Give in memory - The Alfred

Honour the memory of someone special

Losing someone you love can be a very difficult time.  A special way to commemorate the life of a loved one when they pass away is by offering friends and family the opportunity to make a donation to The Alfred rather than give flowers to celebrate their life. Their gifts will be used to support the vital work of The Alfred.

As you reflect on the life and legacy of your loved one, please consider creating an online tribute giving page and asking family and friends to make a donation to The Alfred in their honour. It is a powerful way to keep their memory alive in a way that helps others.  You can then share your tribute page with your family and friends via email and social media.

Each donation is displayed on your page along with any messages of love and support from family and friends.  If you wish, donations can be directed to specific areas within The Alfred.  This allows you to support the area which cared for your loved one.

Alternatively, with a little notice special in memory donation envelopes can be made available at a funeral, wake, church or other commemorative service allowing people to make a donation.

Most funeral directors will help you collect donations in lieu of flowers. Many may already have available our donation envelopes. If not, you can request them to be sent out by contacting our fundraising department on 03 9076 3222 or email foundation@alfred.org.au

Donations over $2 are tax deductible and a tax receipt and thank you letter will be given for each gift made.

An acknowledgement letter will also be sent to the family or next of kin, which includes the names of those who have made a commemorative donation.

Thanks to the generosity of others we have access to the very best facilities and life-saving equipment, helping provide everyone with world class healthcare.  A gift made in memory is a very special way of helping the thousands of people needing treatment and care at The Alfred now and into the future.

Our thoughts are with you at your time of loss, as well as our deepest gratitude for your decision to contribute to The Alfred in this way. What we gain from your generosity is invaluable, and for that we can't thank you enough.
